The Company

Bites of Boston is a company that runs neighborhood food tours in Boston. There are plenty of walking food tours in Boston, but what sets it apart is its choice of location. They run tours in the lesser known neighborhoods to tourists, such as the South End, Allston, and Chinatown. The walking tours stop for tastings in local restaurants as well as to discuss neighborhood history.

The Task

Bites of Boston asked for ways to improve their strategies in order to attract more people of whichever demographic we saw the most opportunity for.

My Target Audience

I chose to focus on Boston/New England locals. This target demographic is knowledgeable of technology and social media and also value culture-rich experiences. This strategy is based entirely on the concept that locals do not want to be treated like tourists. This makes them less likely to go on a tour where they are treated like a tourist because they might feel they are “above it”.
